We are dedicated to delivering top-notch theatrical experiences, no matter the distance. We are based out of Southern New Jersey and generally perform shows in New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware and Maryland-- and sometime much further.
Whether your need a dinner theater, murder mystery show or full-fledged main stage production, Riddlesbrood has the most competitive prices in the region! We break our prices into three tiers so you can get the best entertainment for your needs. For all our pricing information, refer to your prices page. NOTE: If you’re a larger venue such as a 500+ Theater or presenting house you may want to look at our main stage page!
All our shows are 'Dysfunctional Family Friendly', which means content is around a PG-13 (OK for most folks). We have had thousands of families attend our shows, and with great results. We never use ‘blue’ language in any of our productions. While there are double-meaning jokes and adult wordplay, none of the material is any more suggestive than family-hour TV. We are confident that you and your family will have a wonderful time! We always ask that our guests, in keeping with good theater etiquette, remove loud and unruly children from the room for the benefit of the other paying customers. No, we only provide the entertainment. Most clients use a caterer or choose to book their party at a restaurant with a private room or something of that nature.
Yes! Our murder mysteries are highly interactive and full of fun! Every show has that signature interactive charm—everyone plays along, tries to solve the mystery, and enjoys the excitement. Our actors ad-lib and engage with guests throughout the show, making every performance unique. We often invite volunteers to participate (only if they want to!), adding to the immersive experience. It's a thrilling, laughter-filled event where everyone has a great time!
Our shows run approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, plus 10 minutes if there is a particularly raucous audience! Overall, your entire dining experience usually lasts 2.5 hours. (With all of the fun, you will wish it was longer!) For a private event, you may elect to insert an intermission or multiple breaks into the show to facilitate a fundraising opportunity such as a 50/50 or something like that!
Unlike other theatres, we know that taking pictures is part of making great memories. So we do not mind our guests taking pictures during the show. However, we ask that you keep the flashes to a minimum so that other guests are not adversely affected. We do not allow the use of camcorders and other video recording devices for intellectual property reasons. After the show, the actors are more than happy to pose with you and your families for those all-important Facebook photos!

Remember that we are a touring theater company, and travel to many venues. Prices for tickets and/or reservations vary for each presenter. Prices for booking a murder mystery or show for your own
event can be found by checking our Theatre Prices page. If you’re interested in coming to a general admission show, prices tend to fall within the average range for dinner theatre within the Delaware valley area. (About $35 to $75 per person, including the meal). To see a complete list of the shows, locations, and prices, visit the show calendar on this website.
Generally speaking, for dinner theater most venues refer to customers making a ‘Reservation’ similar to how they would at a high-end restaurant instead of a ticket. For more traditional theatrical venues and performances where food is not present, we call it a ‘ticket’.
This depends on the presenting location and/or venue. Generally speaking, yes, however we recommend asking the location the event is being held at. Simply click here to see a list of our current shows and locations. There will be a symbol allowing you to know if credit cards are accepted at the presenter in question.
The time that is listed on your reservation is the "seating time" or when you are expected to arrive. Doors usually open no more than 20 minutes before so don’t get there too early, especially in inclement weather. Most of the presenters hosting our shows will have a place for guests to wait before they are seated such as a bar or lounge area, but this is not always the case. We recommend arriving no earlier than 20 minutes before show time. To see a complete list of the shows, locations, and seating policies, visit the dinner shows on our calendar page or contact the venue directly.
Whether outside food and drinks are allowed depends on the venue hosting the event. For Dinner Theater/Murder Mystery performances, restaurants and banquet facilities typically do not permit outside food or beverages, as they rely on their own sales. Some outdoor public performances may have different policies. We recommend reaching out to the venue directly for their specific guidelines on alcohol and outside food.
Accessibility varies by venue, as each location has its own facilities and accommodations. Many venues hosting our events are wheelchair accessible, but we recommend reaching out to the venue directly to confirm specific accessibility features, such as ramps, restrooms, and seating arrangements. If you have any concerns, feel free to contact the venue in advance to ensure they can accommodate your needs.
Whether alcoholic beverages are available depends on the venue hosting the event. Many restaurants and banquet facilities offer a bar or drink service, while some locations may be BYOB or have restrictions. We recommend reaching out to the venue directly to confirm their alcohol policy and availability.
As a general rule, Riddlesbrood presenting locations do not impose any dress codes on our patrons. However some presenters may turn away guests at their discretion if they feel their attire in not appropriate. Shirt and Shoes are highly recommended! For all events, clothing should be comfortable and appropriate for the occasion. The rooms are generally air conditioned during the summer months, so bring a warm outer garment just in case!
Certainly! We do several auditions per year as well as individual auditions for actors as needed. Generally, we will bring in new actors for the tour for a shadow, where they can come and see and show and meet the gang! These are for both our main stage productions as well as the dinner theater tour. Check out our Auditions page for more info!
